Founded in 1899, St. Andrew’s College (SAC) is an independent, all-boys university preparatory school for Grades 5-12. OBJECTIVE
The objective of the St. Andrews College Internship program is to provide students currently enrolled in College or University Sport Business Programs with experience working in sport administration. Students will get hands on experience working on athletic programming and event delivery. Our goal at St. Andrews College is to provide our interns with opportunities to work within a school Athletic Department on the day-to-day event management, marketing, communications, and promotions (MARCOMMPRO) of the St. Andrew’s College Athletic Program. Our focus will be to ensure students conclude their internship with a better understanding of the opportunities that exist for a career in an Athletic department at the College or University level.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and administer event plans for SAC Athletics’ home games
- Support SAC Brand presentation at events
- Assist with sport administration
- Support event planning, administration, and post-event activities
- Support design, programming, and production of sports events
- Assist with marketing plan implementation
- Provide event information in collaboration with communications staff
- Assist team management on game days
- Coordinate on-field activity setup
- Support overall event planning for SAC athletics programs
- Manage SAC Brand presentation at events
- Support production of promotional materials and presentations
- Collaborate with Athletic Directors on projects
- Manage Equipment Rooms and Storage Facilities operations
- Monitor equipment maintenance and repairs
- Update website with schedule changes and team information
KEY ATTRIBUTES
- Currently working towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field: Event Management, Marketing, Business Administration and / or other related programs
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks appropriately, in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Administratively organized and detailed oriented
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong team player, with the ability to work independently
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office platforms (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Quick study and willingness to learn
- Knowledge of the Canadian Sport System
- Ability to learn new programs
COMPENSATION: An honorarium of up to $1,500 is provided for a full-time internship position.
