Position: Social Media Assistant 
Reports to: Sports Information Coordinator  
Start Date:  August 18, 2025 – April 24, 2026 
Hours: Approx. 15-20 hours/week, night and weekend hours required, flexible hours during week 

Please note the successful candidate is expected to work regular internship hours during Fall and Winter Reading Weeks. There will be reduced hours during December and April.

Job Summary 

Brock Sports is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual who will serve as the Social Media Assistant for the 2025/2026 school year. The incumbent will primarily be responsible for monitoring, promoting and generating digital content for social media platforms administered by the Brock Badgers. 

 Duties may include, but not limited to: 

  • Produce engaging content for all Brock Badgers social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) 
  • Take primary responsibility for weekly content such as Photos of the Week, Week Aheads, Gameday Stories and Final Score graphics. 
  • Develop and manage content calendars with the Sports Information Coordinator.  
  • Help oversee on-site live social media coverage for varsity home games and remote social media coverage for varsity away games. 
  • Assist with the supervision of 3P02 placement students including providing feedback/mentorship, scheduling and managing workflow.    
  • Help the Sports Information Assistant with photo and video management and archiving. 
  • Monitor social media channels and maintain records of social media metrics.  
  • Assist with the planning and on-site live social media coverage of provincial and national championships and other special events as necessary. 
  • Provide general administrative support, including other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications 

  • Eligible to students enrolled in a college or university program completing an internship for course credit. 
  • Proficient understanding of and experience with relevant social media platforms and knowledge of social media trends.  
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  • Experience utilizing Adobe (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere) or similar software an asset. 
  • Skilled at delivering high quality work under tight deadlines and frequent interruptions. 
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail. 
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
