About ICSN:
ICSN is a Black-led, not-for-profit organization committed to fostering racial equity within the Canadian sports community. We celebrate diversity and strive to create pathways for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Colour) individuals to excel as coaches, officials, administrators, and support staff in Canadian amateur sports. Our mission is grounded in advocacy through allyship, community celebration, and professional networking.
Nature of Work:
As a Marketing and Communications Coordinator with ICSN, you will play a crucial role in amplifying our message of inclusion and equity in Canadian sports. You will contribute to the development and execution of marketing and communication strategies that raise awareness about ICSN’s programs, events, and advocacy efforts. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in a dynamic non-profit environment while contributing to meaningful social change.

Goals and Objectives:
- Increase awareness of ICSN’s mission, programs, and events among target audiences.
- Enhance ICSN’s brand visibility and reputation as a leader in promoting racial equity in sports.
- Develop and implement engaging content and campaigns that promote ICSN’s initiatives and drive audience engagement.
- Support the growth of ICSN’s online community and social media presence.
- Contribute to the creation of marketing materials, newsletters, and other communication tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Content Creation: Develop compelling content for ICSN’s website, social media platforms, newsletters, and marketing materials.
- Social Media Management: Manage ICSN’s social media presence, including content creation, post scheduling, community engagement, and performance monitoring.
- Marketing Campaign Support: Assist in the planning and execution of marketing campaigns to promote ICSN’s programs and events.
- Public Relations: Assist in drafting press releases, media advisories, and other PR materials.
- Stakeholder Communication: Support communication efforts with ICSN’s partners, sponsors, and other stakeholders.
- Website Management: Assist in updating and maintaining ICSN’s website.
- Newsletter Creation: Create ICSN’s monthly newsletter.
- Email Account Management: Monitor and answer emails from ICSN’s central email account.
- Community Partner Communication: Communicate with community partners and organizations.
- Other Duties: Support other departments in programs and tasks.
Who You Are:
- Must be eligible to work in Canada and have a valid social security number.
- Passionate about social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Strong interest in sports and the Canadian sports landscape.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in social media platforms and content creation tools.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Has event management experience.
- Proficient in Mailchimp, Zoom, Eventbrite, Canva, etc.
- Experience in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, Drive).
- Analytical and data management skills.
- Experience with graphic design, video editing, or website management is an asset.
