The Head Coach, Men’s Soccer is responsible for all duties associated with the successful delivery and co-ordination of an interuniversity soccer program including coaching and recruitment. The incumbent shall work in collaboration with the Head Coach Women’s Soccer and Soccer Operations for the administration, recruitment, and fundraising of the program. The incumbent shall personify the values of Brock Sports & Recreation exemplifying equity, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of student-athlete development in a safe sport environment.
This position is a part-time twelve-month renewable contract that requires peak work hours (including weeknights and weekends) during the competitive university sport season (August 1 – November 30) with flexible work hours during the off-season from (December 1 – July 31).
- With priority placed on academic success, design and implement an annual plan that positions the Men’s Soccer program to achieve provincial and national prominence. The annual plan shall include recruiting highly qualified student-athletes, team selection, personnel management, individual skill programs, tactical and technical preparation, video and statistical analysis, scheduling, practice planning, game preparation, and student-athlete performance evaluations and feedback.
- Collaborate with Brock Sports Performance and Brock Sports Medicine, to build an Integrated Support Team (IST) program necessary to support a competitive U SPORTS program.
- Ensure participating student-athletes meet all eligibility standards set out in the Brock University, Brock Sports, and OUA / USPORTS rules and regulations.
- Attend OUA/USPORTS meetings and ensure compliance with all league rules and regulations.
- Maintain ongoing contact with student-athletes to ensure all athletic, academic, and non-academic needs are supported.
- Collaborate with the Head Coach, Women’s Soccer & Soccer operations in promoting and implementing enhancements to the Men’s Soccer program through fundraising and alumni initiatives.
- Support all logistical and operational components align with the program budget and team revenue generation targets.
- As a member of the Brock Badger team, the Head Coach is expected to support other programs, participate in Brock or community initiatives, and attend Brock events as requested.
- Build positive relationships with other governing bodies and associations at the local, regional, provincial, national and professional levels.

Minimum Canada Soccer National B License (or equivalent).

Minimum of three (3) years coaching soccer at the college, university, provincial or national level.

Proven record of integrity and demonstrated skill set in developing and motivating student-athletes, both academically and athletically.

Comprehensive knowledge of high-performance coaching systems, tactics and strategies.

Knowledge of OUA and U SPORTS rules and regulations, policies.

NCCP Safe Sport, Making Ethical Decisions & Anti-Racism Training; First Aid, CPR and mental health training.

Satisfactory Criminal Records Check with vulnerable sector screening.
