Sport Law is recruiting a communications and social engagement specialist who has experience in digital communications strategy development and social media management, and who is passionate about making a difference in sport. Company Overview

Sport Law was founded in 1992 and from our humble beginnings, we have grown to 20 consultants who specialize in supporting sport organizations at the national, provincial and community level. We have experienced team members in the areas of sport law, governance, risk management, leadership coaching, crisis communications, complaint management, research and reviews, financial management, executive training, parliamentary procedures, and so much more.

As our business continues to grow and evolve, we want to maintain a high level of service and value to the sport sector we care deeply about.

Job Description

As a Communications Specialist with expertise in digital communications and social media management, you will play a vital role developing and executing Sport Law’s digital communication strategy, including social media, email marketing, website maintenance, and podcast production. Additionally, as a consultant, you will be advising sports organizations and governing bodies on digital communications strategies and supporting the development of communications content.

Requirements
To be considered for the Communications Specialist position, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • University degree in Commerce/Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or a relevant field from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • A minimum of 2 years of communications and marketing experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in organic social media content creation and dissemination, including knowledge of social media accessibility practices.
  • Demonstrated experience or willingness to learn podcast production.
  • Technical knowledge and experience working with digital communications platforms including, but not limited to, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, X, WordPress, Canva, MailChimp, Castos, GarageBand, Piktochart, and Microsoft 365.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Demonstrated planning and organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Strong writing and content editing abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Passion for sports and a deep understanding of the Canadian amateur sports sector.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.
