April 7th, 2025 As a national sport organization, Canada Snowboard is governed by an elected Board of Directors. The board provides direction which stewards the delivery of grassroots through competitive snowboarding across Canada and aspires to scale the organization to the ‘leading snowboard nation’ internationally.
To best support Canada Snowboard and its Board of Directors in its current direction, candidates who possess advanced skills in; strategic planning; governance; revenue generation; fundraising; organizational scaling; and diversity, equity and inclusion are highly encouraged to apply. In addition, the Board of Directors is highly interested in those possessing the professional and general skills outlined below.
Professional Skills:
- Corporate Legal / Corporate Risk experience
- Government Relations experience
- Issues Management & Communications experience
- Human Resources experience
General Skills:
- Knowledge of NSO sports system in Canada (sport leadership)
- Familiarity/involvement with Snowboard industry/culture
- Analytical Skills (Identifying opportunities to stimulate growth)
- Change Management & Culture
- Retired Olympic or Paralympic Athlete
- Previous Canada Snowboard experience or knowledge
There are currently two (2) positions available for election. These two (2) positions will join the seven (7) current directors, inclusive of (1) director who is the Canada Snowboard Athletes Council representative, to form the ten (10) directors of the organization. Two candidates will be elected for a mandate of three (3) years, and all will be elected by the Canada Snowboard membership (Provincial & Territorial Snowboard Associations) as per the Canadian Snowboard Federation (CS) general bylaws. Please see section #7 for these two officer positions and their associated responsibilities.
