Alberta Sport Leadership Conference

Alberta Sport Connection is pleased to announce that Registration is now open for the 2019 Alberta Sport Leadership Conference May 1-4 @ the River Cree Resort in Enoch (just west of Edmonton).  

The theme of this year’s Conference is Safe and Welcoming Sport Environments and the Conference Program will focus on the following:

  • Sport is Inclusive and Accessible to Diversified Populations  
  • Sport is Safe and Ethical
  • Sport Organizations demonstrate Effective Governance
  • Sport is led by Quality Coaches    
  • Sport reflects the Principles of Athlete Development

Featured presenters include Kristen Worley, Rosie Cossar, Isabelle Cayer, Stephanie Shostak, Kate Moorhouse, Steve Indig, Catherine Gosselin-Despres, David Legg, Karyn Kibsey, Cheryl Humphrey, Rob Krepps, Hamish Black, Natalie Durand-Bush, Anastasia Bucsis and Dr. Steven Norris. 

A Provincial Sport Tourism Pre-Conference is also available on May 1st – 2nd.  Sport Tourism holds incredible potential to impart both economic and social benefits onto a community, and this pre-conference event will seek to delve into the unique world of sport tourism and its many applications. Various sport and destination marketing organizations will be given the opportunity to interact with and learn from each other, with presentations from leaders in the field providing additional opportunities to learn about industry trends, opportunities for growth, and how communities and sport organizations can work together to create memorable sport-based experiences.

 

Registration for both the Safe and Welcoming Sport Environments Conference and Provincial Sport Tourism Pre-Conference May 1st – 2nd is $375.00. 

Safe and Welcoming Sport Environments Conference Registration Fee is $325.00.
 
Provincial Sport Tourism Pre-Conference only Registration Fee is $75.00
 

River Cree Resort Accommodations can be made online: absportleadershipconference.ca/accommodations/ Please book by Wednesday, April 17th to guarantee accommodation on site at the rate of $159.00 per night including breakfast.
