Together we reached over 5 million Canadians during this year’s Concussion Awareness Week.
From coast-to-coast-to-coast, the activities spanned September 24 to September 30, 2023, including Ontario’s Rowan’s Law Day on September 27, and showcased the collective strength in our goal to encourage participating in sport safely and increase awareness about concussions in sport.
Throughout the week, sports, scholars, health professionals and governments across Canada shared the latest research, practical tools, templates, educational resources and best practices with their members and the wider sports community.
From hockey teams in the Northwest Territories, to soccer clubs in British Columbia, to baseball organizations in Nova Scotia and Physical Education teachers across the country, the message about concussion safety is getting out.
Concussion Awareness Week is a Federal-Provincial-Territorial endorsed annual event to ensure Canadians continue to learn and look out for each other.
The Sport Information Resource Centre extends our heartfelt gratitude to the National Sport Organizations, Provincial and Territorial Sport Organizations, Community Sport Organizations and our esteemed partners in research and academia for their steadfast commitment in providing safe sports programs which are accessible to everyone.
This crucial knowledge exchange would not have been possible without your invaluable contribution and the learning and education must continue.
