men’s risk of coronary heart disease death

Did you know?

A recent research study examined men’s risk of coronary heart disease death as predicted by cardiovascular fitness and blood triglyceride/high-density lipoprotein ratio (TG:HDL). The longitudinal study followed their subjects for 16 years and determined that “The lowest risk of CHD death was seen among high fit men in the lowest category of TG:HDL ratio, while the highest risk of CHD death was seen among low fit men in the highest category of TG:HDL ratio”. Having at least moderate level of fitness provides some protection against coronary heart disease death.
