Tyrell Bellot-Green Added To Roster For FIBA Americup 2021 Qualifiers

TORONTO, Ont. (February 19, 2020) – Canada Basketball announced today that guard Tyrell Bellot-Green has been added to the Senior Men’s National Team roster for the FIBA AmeriCup 2021 Qualifiers.

Bellot-Green replaces forward Dyshawn Pierre, who is unavailable due to injury.

Originally from Toronto, Bellot-Green last represented Canada in FIBA competition at the 2012 FIBA U17 World Championship for Men in Kaunas, Lithuania and the 2011 FIBA Americas U16 Championship for Men in Cancun, Mexico.

Canada will face Dominican Republic at the Tribute Communities Centre in Oshawa, Ontario on Friday, February 21 at 7:00 PM ET before travelling to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic for a rematch on Monday, February 24.

The FIBA AmeriCup 2021 Qualifiers will feature 16 teams from the Americas zone divided into four groups of four teams.  Teams will play each other twice, home and away, during the qualifying phase with three windows set for February 21-24 2020, November 2020 and February 2021.

Canada is in Group C along with Cuba, Dominican Republic and U.S. Virgin Islands.
