Top Swimmers from Across Atlantic Canada are Ready to Compete at the 2019 David Fry Nova Scotia Provincial Swimming Championships

Swim Nova Scotia – Halifax, NS (February 27, 2019)- Swim Nova Scotia and the Halifax Trojan Aquatic Club will be co-hosting the 2019 David Fry Nova Scotia Provincial Swimming Championships in Halifax at Dalplex Pool, February 28-March 3.  Approximately 270 swimmers from Atlantic Canada will be attending the competition including close to 200 of Nova Scotia’s top age group swimmers.

This competition is the first of two championship meets for the swim season in our Province. Nova Scotia’s high performance swimmers are gearing up for the Canadian National Swimming Championships in Toronto, Ontario early in April.

Preliminary events will take place daily (Friday-Sunday) 9:00am-noon, and finals will take place daily 5:00-7:30pm.  Thursday’s session will be timed finals 4:00-7:00pm.

Swim Nova Scotia will be presenting recently retired Head Coach of the Yarmouth Y Whitecaps, Virginia Smith with the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers and Swimming Canada’s Volunteer of the Year Award prior to the start of finals on Saturday at 4:45pm.
