2025 has seen yet another action-packed summer Rugby season across BC’s Northern and Interior regions, with the continued growth of Women’s Rugby and junior programming as well as a positive year for new club, Trail RFC.
BC Rugby is delighted to confirm the four Men’s and six Women’s teams that will compete for the 2025 Saratoga Cup and 2025 Women’s Saratoga Cup presented by Hideaway Public House on August 9-10 in Salmon Arm, home of the Yeti Rugby Club.

In the Men’s XVs Competition, hosts Yeti Rugby Club will be joined by defending champions Terrace Northmen RFC who topped the Central Interior Division following their Championship win in 2024. The Rocky Mountain Rogues, who enjoyed three successive Saratoga Cup wins from 2021-2023, will be looking to regain the crown as Kootenay Cup Winners. Vernon Jackals, fresh from winning the Okanagan Division, are enjoying a resurgence and will pose a tough threat in this year’s competition.
Women’s Saratoga Cup

This year’s Women’s Saratoga Cup competition will see six teams compete for glory! Hosts Yeti Rugby Club will feature alongside the defending champions, Terrace Northmen RFC, who celebrated the 2024 Championship victory on home soil last year. Penticton Harlequins will compete for the second successive year, while we welcome three teams from the Kootenays region: newcomers Trail RFC will make its Women’s Saratoga Cup debut alongside Rocky Mountain Rogues and Elk Valley RFC!
This year’s tournament, hosted in conjunction with the Yeti Rugby Club, promises to deliver an unforgettable two days of community rugby, competition, and celebration.
Hideaway Public House, a local favourite in Salmon Arm known for its welcoming atmosphere, live music, and great food, joins the Saratoga Cup this year as the presenting sponsor, further connecting the tournament with the heart of the community.
Matches will take place at the Little Mountain Fields (250 30 St SE, Salmon Arm, BC V1E 1J5) on Saturday, August 9 and Sunday, August 10. Both days will feature a licensed beer garden, hosted by Hideaway Public House, so fans can enjoy a beverage while they soak in the action!
In true Saratoga Cup fashion, this year’s event will also feature two official team socials to keep the energy high once the final whistle blows each day. Saturday night will kick off with a beach-themed party at Canooligans’, situated on the lake front in the neighbouring town of Canoe, and featuring a live DJ to set the tone for a night of team bonding and camaraderie.
Following Sunday’s Finals, join us for the Saratoga Cup Closing Party at the Hideaway Public House in Salmon Arm! The party will feature a live performance from The Dirt Road Kings and will be a fitting way to cap off a fantastic summer season. There is a $20 cover charge for Sunday’s social event, which includes a ticket to the live performance and two drinks tickets.
