BC Rugby’s 2025 Provincial Regional Championships (PRCs) concluded on Sunday as six champions were crowned following an intense weekend of Rugby at Shawnigan Lake School.
Vancouver Wave were declared the inaugural Provincial Regional Champions for 2025, as the region amassed the most points across the six divisions.
The Wave were crowned U19 Boys Champions, with Crimson Tide winning the U19 Girls crown after a pulsating final with Fraser Valley. Vancouver Wave won the U17 Boys Division with Crimson Tide crowned U17 Girls Champions. In the U15 Divisions, Vancouver Wave were declared winners of the Boys Division and Fraser Valley won the U15 Girls title.
Taking place on the traditional territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, the PRCs returned with a new format for 2025 that saw four regions (Vancouver, Vancouver Island, Fraser Valley and Interior) compete 24 matches across six divisions in perfect Rugby surroundings at Shawnigan Lake School.
The 2025 PRCs also saw a return for Men’s Regional Rugby as the Crimson Tide and Vancouver Wave played out a pulsating exhibition match, with the Tide running out 53-17 winners following an impressive performance.
For emerging Rugby players, the 2025 PRCs presented a perfect opportunity to impress the watching BC Rugby Age-Grade Team Coaches and make a late bid for selection to the BC Bears Provincial U17 and U19 Representative teams in action this summer.
