Age Group Coach – Full Time, Salaried

OAK is looking for a modern sports leader to fill the role of age group coach whose passion and ambition equals our own. The successful candidate will be an experienced competitive swim coach, will thrive in a team setting, and will have strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Our age group coaches play a vital role in helping OAK achieve these goals. We support our coaches to be the central point for fostering success and enjoyment for our athletes. As an age group coach, you will report directly to either the Director of Performance or the Director of Development and you will work closely with the Head Coach, Business Manager, as well as the rest of the administrative and coaching staff.
About Us
OAK is a 3-time National Championship, not-for-profit swim club that provides competitive swimming programs for the Oakville area. OAK is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and managed by professional coaches and administrative staff. OAK typically registers approximately 700 swimmers in our programs annually, and we also provide opportunities for swimmers to race in competitions and enjoy being a part of a fun and supportive community that celebrates success.
Qualifications
- 5 years experience in swim team coaching
- NCCP Age Group Coach Certified – Level 1 (Age Group Coach Certified – Level 2 preferred)
- University level education (preferred)
- Member in good standing with Governing bodies (Swim ON, Swimming Canada, CSCA)
- Standard First Aid with CPR-C and NLS (or working towards this)
Duties
- Coach, teach and train athletes in alignment with the OAK integrated athlete development plan.
- Attend all practices, training camps and competitions in which your athletes participate or as directed.
- Participate in weekly administrative and coach development meetings.
- Communicate regularly with your parent group(s) and perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Work Terms and Consideration

The Coach will work standard full time hours per week with the discretion to manage these hours based upon the Club’s needs which may require evening and weekend work subject to holidays, vacation, sick leave and building closures.
Work will primarily be conducted at pool facilities in the Oakville and surrounding areas, at the OAK office in Oakville, ON and other pool locations across Ontario during competitions. Consideration will be provided in the form of an annual salary and also includes an excellent benefits package in accordance with the OAK Benefits Plan.
