Results from Day 3 Canadian Swimming Trials

Swimming Canada – Nova Scotia Swimmers Continue to Race at the 2019 Canadian Swimming Trials

Toronto (ON)- Nova Scotia’s top swimmers continue to compete at the 2019 Canadian Swimming Trials in Toronto, Ontario at Toronto’s Pan Am Sports Centre.

Two swimmers from the Halifax Trojan Aquatic Club raced today during the preliminaries; 15-year-old Isabelle Dearnaley made her National debut today in the women’s 100m Butterfly where she finished 50th in a time of 1:04.49; while veteran Sarah Polley finished 25th in the women’s 200m Backstroke with a time of 2:18.06.

This competition will serve as the nomination or selection Trials for the 2019 FINA World Championships, 2019 FINA World Junior Championships, 2019 Pan American Games, 2019 Para Pan American Games, 2019 World Para Swimming Championships, and 2019 FISU Games.

A total of 627 athletes (346 female, 281 male) are in action representing 157 clubs. That includes international competitors from 21 countries: Algeria, Cayman Islands, Colombia, Croatia, England, France, Germany, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Italy, Kenya, Latvia, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Peru, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Trinidad and Tobago, and the United States.

Prelims begin at 9:30am and finals begin at 6:00pm local time daily; competition wraps up on Sunday.
