Canada’s archery team unveiled for 2025 FISU Summer World University Games

U SPORTS, as the Canadian representative of the International University Sports Federation, and Archery Canada have announced the roster for Team Canada archery athletes at the 2025 FISU Summer World University Games in the Rhine-Ruhr region of Germany.

The seven-person squad is led by Amelia Gagné (Trent/Peterborough, Ont.), who won silver in the Recurve U21 category at last year’s world championships in Lac La Biche, Alta.; Trevor Hoy (Trent/Norwood, Ont.), who was on the team that won gold at the U21 men’s team compound event at the 2024 Youth and Masters Pan Am Championships in San Salvador, El Salvador; and Benjamen Lee (Waterloo/Kitchener, Ont.) who went to the 2018 Youth Olympic Games and won bronze at the 2018 Pan Am Championships.

The full seven-person squad includes four women and three men and is as follows:

Team Canada is making its return to the FISU Summer World University Games, after missing the 2023 event, with Archery set for July 22-26 in Essen, where Canada will be looking for its first medal 

The team will be led by coaches Mitchell Isaac of Pointe-a-la-Croix, Que., and Jody Wacowich of Carbon, Alta. 

All team lists are subject to change prior to the Games start date and all nominations are subject to approval by the U SPORTS international office.
