Canada Soccer Welcomes Tim Hutzul as General Counsel

Canada Soccer is pleased to announce the appointment of Tim Hutzul as its new General Counsel.

A seasoned international lawyer with more than 25 years of legal and executive experience, Tim brings a deep and diverse background to Canada Soccer at a critical time in the Federation’s history. His career has spanned in-house and Bay Street roles, with legal work conducted or supervised in more than 35 countries and across a broad range of industries.

“Tim brings a rare blend of legal acumen, global experience, and deep-rooted passion for sport. His leadership and counsel will play a critical role in Canada Soccer’s continued evolution and in strengthening the organization’s governance and integrity frameworks,” said Kevin Blue, Canada Soccer CEO & General Secretary.

Prior to joining Canada Soccer, Tim served as General Counsel for a large publicly traded material science and manufacturing company. His sports law experience is equally distinguished, including a secondment with the National Hockey League Players Association, and providing behind the scenes legal support to the Toronto Blue Jays, Toronto Argonauts, World Wrestling Federation, and Toronto Shooting Stars.

In addition to his role at Canada Soccer, Tim serves as the pro bono Corporate Secretary and Legal Advisor to Canada Basketball and is a member of its Hall of Fame Steering Committee and is a Global Celt for Celtic FC. Tim holds both a BA and LLB from the University of Toronto and is the proud father of two soccer fanatics.

An open search for Sporting Director, National Teams will begin shortly to complete the Canada Soccer executive team.
