Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton —#Tracking2022 Recruitment Camps set for Guelph July 13, and Calgary July 14—
CALGARY—Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton will continue its nation-wide search to grow its pool of athletes leading to Beijing 2022, by holding a recruitment camp in Guelph, Ont. on July 13 followed by another camp in Calgary on July 14.
Coined #Tracking2022 National Team athletes and coaches will help lead athletes in the region, 18 years of age and older, through a series of physical testing drills – from sprints, jumps and throws – in search of the next generation of talent who are #ALLIn.
The Guelph camp will be held at the Gryphon Fieldhouse Track on July 13 at 2 p.m. The Calgary camp is set for the Olympic Oval, July 14, at 12 noon. Both are open to all athletes in the region for a nominal fee of $20
Some of Canada’s best bobsleigh and skeleton athletes, who have combined to win 13 Olympic medals in the sport’s history, have been recruited from football, track and field, rugby, lacrosse, mountain sports, skiing, volleyball, cycling and rowing.
Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton would like to invite media to attend the recruitment camp in an effort to build a better understanding of the sport of bobsleigh and skeleton, while gaining a greater appreciation of the training and skill necessary for these sliding sport athletes.
