OTTAWA, ON (February 11, 2025) – Canada’s figure skating elite are set to compete at the 2025 ISU Four Continents Championships taking place in Seoul, South Korea from February 19-23, 2025. Headlining the eighteen member Canadian delegation will be world medalists Deanna Stellato-Dudek, Maxime Deschamps, Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier.
Three-time national champions Stellato-Dudek and Deschamps will look to reclaim their title in their first international competition since the pair captured gold at the Finlandia Trophy earlier this season. They will be joined in the pairs event by Lia Pereira and Trennt Michaud, who took home the bronze medal at the 2024 Cup of China, and Kelly Ann Laurin and Loucas Éthier, national bronze medalists.
Canada will also be a top contender in the ice dance competition, with the Championships’ reigning gold medalists Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier intent on securing a spot on the podium. Joining them will be Marjorie Lajoie and Zachary Lagha, who earned a career best fourth-place finish at the ISU Grand Prix Final earlier this season, and national bronze medalists Alicia Fabbri and Paul Ayer, who will be making their Four Continents debut in Korea.
In the women’s event, Olympian Madeline Schizas will look to build on the momentum from her recent win at the 2025 Canadian National Skating Championships. She will be joined by national silver medalist Sara-Maude Dupuis, who earned her first international medal at the 2024 Tallinn Trophy this season. Rounding out the women’s field will be 2024 Warsaw Cup gold medalist and first-time Four Continents competitor, Katherine Medland Spence.
With a place on the 2025 World Championship team on the line, there will be fierce competition amongst the Canadian athletes competing in the men’s event. Leading the charge will be Roman Sadovsky, the newly crowned national champion and 2024 Tallinn Trophy bronze medalist. He will be joined in the men’s event by Wesley Chiu and Aleksa Rakic, both of whom will be looking to make a strong comeback to competition following a series of setbacks this season.
