Elmira & District Curling Club to Host the 2026 Curling Ontario Men’s and Women’s Championships

Curling Ontario is thrilled to announce that the Elmira & District Curling Club will serve as the host for the highly anticipated 2026 Curling Ontario Championships, taking place at the Woolwich Memorial Centre from January 4 to 11, 2026. This prestigious tournament will showcase the province’s top curling talent as they compete for the coveted titles.

Founded in 1956, the Elmira & District Curling Club has a long-standing tradition of promoting curling excellence and community involvement. Over the years, the club has grown into a cherished hub for curling enthusiasts, offering state-of-the-art facilities and a vibrant atmosphere that celebrates the sport. With a passion for curling and commitment to delivering an outstanding experience, the Elmira & District Curling Club is ready to welcome athletes and fans alike.

“We are excited to work with the Elmira & District Curling Club to host the 2026 Curling Ontario Championships,” says Matt Allen, Executive Director of Curling Ontario. “Elmira’s dedication to fostering curling and building community spirit makes it the perfect venue for this event, bringing together the top curlers from across our province. We look forward to the excitement and camaraderie that will undoubtedly emerge from this championship.”

The Elmira & District Curling Club previously hosted the championships in 2019, and the organizers are enthusiastic about replicating that success. “Hosting the 2026 Curling Provincials in Elmira will be a wonderful opportunity to bring together players and fans from across Ontario,” says Pat Andrews, President of the Elmira & District Curling Club. “There will be some great curling, and we are excited to host the competition in our community.”

“We are eager to collaborate with Curling Ontario to deliver another outstanding event,” adds Bill Barr, Chair of the Organizing Committee. “We will be assembling a team of exceptional volunteers to help us achieve this success.”

About Elmira & District Curling Club

The Elmira & District Curling Club was established in 1956, quickly growing to 130 members, one of the largest charter memberships for its size in Ontario. In 1965, the club opened a dedicated facility with four sheets of ice to accommodate its increasing membership. Over the years, it has made numerous improvements, including updates to the lounge and ice-making equipment, ensuring a welcoming environment. In 2006, the club became a not-for-profit, member-operated organization, emphasizing community engagement and ongoing facility upgrades, with a focus on improving accessibility and enhancing the curling experience for all.
