The Canadians will compete in Group A against Romania and hosts Japan
[TORONTO, ON] Jan. 23, 2025 – The official draw for the 2025 Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Qualifiers took place at the ITF offices in London, Great Britain on Thursday. The 18 teams were divided into six groups consisting of three teams per group. Top-seeded Team Canada will compete in Group A alongside Romania and host nation Japan the week of April 7.
“We are thrilled to be competing in the Billie Jean King Cup once again,” said Team Canada Captain Heidi El Tabakh. “We will be part of a very good group to start the competition, with both Romania and Japan coming off Finals appearances last year. But I’m confident that we have the skills and firepower necessary to compete with the best nations in the world and look forward to beginning our quest to return to the Finals.”
