Ottawa, ON – Archery Canada is thrilled to announce National Archery Week will take place from June 14 to 21, 2025, providing Canadians opportunities to pick up a bow and discover the excitement of archery. This year, Archery Canada is proud to partner with the ParticipACTION Community Challenge presented by Novo Nordisk, enabling archery clubs across the country to access grants of up to $1,500 to host “Try Archery” events and foster greater inclusivity in the sport.
The Community Challenge is a national physical activity and sport initiative that encourages everyone in Canada to get active throughout June in search of Canada’s Most Active Community.
“National Archery Week is about more than just introducing people to a bow and arrow,” says Nada Ghaoui, Director-at-large for Marketing for Archery Canada. “It’s about creating a sense of inclusion, belonging, and connection through sport. Our partnership with ParticipACTION allows us to reach those who may not have had access to archery before, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to experience this rewarding activity.”
The partnership with ParticipAction permits clubs to apply for Grants for activities in June, either during Archery Week or at another time, with an emphasis on engaging equity-denied groups such as Indigenous, Black, racialized, 2SLGBTQIA+ and low-income populations, as well as persons with disabilities, newcomers to Canada, and older adults. Grant applications are now open!
These grants will support the implementation of try-it events in clubs so that the groups above can more easily give archery a shot. Clubs can create welcoming environments where everyone can experience the physical and mental benefits of archery. When more people try archery, the sport grows and becomes better.
Archery offers a unique blend of physical activity and mental focus, making it a sport that anyone can enjoy. Whether you’re looking to improve your fitness, relieve stress, or simply try something new, archery has something for everyone. Archery clubs across Canada are encouraged to apply for ParticipACTION Community Challenge grants to support their Try Archery events and help their community compete for the title of Canada’s Most Active and the $100,000 prize during National Archery Week.
