100 athletes to compete at RBC Training Ground National Final in Halifax

On Saturday, November 2, several Team Canada Olympians and RBC Olympians will be in Halifax to support the Top 100 athletes from across the country who will be competing at the RBC Training Ground National Final.

Wrapping up its ninth season, RBC Training Ground is a national talent identification and athlete-funding program dedicated to finding and funding the next generation of Canadian Olympians. This year, more than 2,100 athletes from across the country participated at free RBC Training Ground events in front of 13 National Sport Organization partners. At each event, participants perform speed, strength, power, and endurance benchmark testing for the opportunity to qualify for the National Final. Since the program’s inception, 21 RBC Training Ground athletes have competed at three Olympic Games and earned a collective fourteen medals – including seven at the recent Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Up to 30 athletes who compete at the National Final will be named RBC Future Olympians and selected to receive funding and access to top coaches and mentorship opportunities as they strive to turn their Olympic dreams into reality over the coming years.

Media are invited for photo, interview, and b-roll opportunities. Please RSVP to Brian Findlay at bfindlay@gotoguys.net.
