Join the 2025 Archery Manitoba Target Team

The 2024/2025 Archery Manitoba Provincial Target Team Program Selection Document has been released, providing athletes with the criteria and guidelines necessary to compete for a place on the team. This program is designed to identify and develop talented archers from Manitoba, who will represent the province at national competitions.

The selection process involves a series of competitions, with scores and rankings determining the final team selection. To be eligible for the program, athletes must be a member of Archery Manitoba and be a resident of Manitoba. Archers must also meet the age requirements, with categories of U15, U18, U21, and 21+.

The selection process is based entirely on outdoor target archery events (720 Rounds), with a minimum score requirement established per gender, discipline, and category. Archers must submit at least three scores in which the average meets or exceeds the ‘Minimum Qualifying Score’ benchmarks to be considered for the team selection. Archers can compete in as many eligible rounds as they like, using their top three scores for submission. The scores will be used to determine the athlete’s ranking within their category on the team and slot them into a team squad of Elite, Development A, or Development B.

In addition to meeting the score requirements, archers must also demonstrate a commitment to training and competition. Athletes are expected to participate in a minimum number of personal training sessions and attend team events, including practices, competitions, and team meetings.

The Provincial Target Team Program is an excellent opportunity for archers in Manitoba to develop their skills and compete at a high level. It provides a pathway for athletes to represent their province and compete on the national and international stage. The program is led by the Provincial Coach and offers additional sports science resources through the Sport Manitoba Performance Centre, including Strength Training, Mental Performance Sessions, and Nutrition.
