In Recognizing Role Models…

We are thrilled to have announced the Class of 2024, an outstanding group of athletes, builders, and trailblazers who are set to receive the Order of Sport this October.

Spanning a wide array of sports, this diverse group features dedicated community builders, innovative sport pioneers, exceptional athletes, and inspirational role models whose contributions transcend the boundaries of sport.

In The Classroom…

Highlighting the outstanding contributions of Indigenous Athletes & Builders of sport to Canada’s rich sporting history, students were provided with an impactful opportunity to connect to Indigenous role models and learn their stories through a live and virtual speaker series, digital storytelling, and community exhibits.

These initiatives aim to celebrate the diversity and resilience of Indigenous sport icons, as well as inspire the next generation of leaders and changemakers.

In The Community…

Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame is proud to have partnered with Veterans Affairs Canada to bring a captivating digital and 2D exhibit to the Canadian National Vimy Memorial Visitor Education Centre and the Beaumont-Hamel Newfoundland Memorial Visitor Centre in France.

On display June through September, this initiative showcased sports played by military teams and athletes, spanning from the 1880s to the present day, along with sections dedicated to the Origins of the Paralympic Games and the Invictus Games, offering a profound exploration of the intersection between sports and the military.
