Flewelling, Langevin, Romeo Selected on Day Two of 2024 MLB Draft

OTTAWA – Current Junior National Team catcher Nathan Flewelling didn’t wait long to hear his name on day two of the Major League Baseball Draft as the Tampa Bay Rays used their third round selection (94th overall) on the Red Deer, Alberta native.

Flewelling joined the Junior National Team program in October 2023, participating in the Fall Instructional League Camp that took place in the Dominican Republic.

Flewelling was ranked 236th on MLB.com’s Top 250 draft prospects list and is committed to Gonzaga University.

In the fourth round, the Kansas City Royals made LP Langevin (Québec City, QC) the 105th overall selection, drafting the right-handed pitcher out of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

Langevin was the 230th ranked prospect by MLB.com.

In the sixth round, the Oakland Athletics selected RHP Josiah Romeo (Caledon, ON) with the 166th overall pick.

Romeo first joined the Junior National Team program in the Spring of 2023 as a two-way player before making the full-time move to the mound.

Romeo was the 237th ranked prospect by MLB.com.

4. RHP LP Langevin (Québec City, QC) – Kansas City Royals – 4th round (105th overall) University of Louisiana at Lafayette

5. RHP Josiah Romeo (Caledon, ON) – Oakland Athletics – 6th round (166th overall) Junior National Team/Mississauga Tigers
