CARHA Hockey’s Game Changers Campaign Launched in Support of Gender Equity

OTTAWA, ONTARIO – June 4, 2024 – CARHA Hockey’s Game Changers campaign is encouraging Canadians to share how they can make an impact in the field of gender equity by championing women and girls in sport and recreation through action and ally ship. The nationwide initiative, which runs until June 19, 2024, recognizes the people and programs that are making strides and inspiring others.

CARHA Hockey will award three (3) prizes of $1,000 towards a female-focused cause or initiative that supports the advancement of gender equity. Funds can be directed to an individual’s personal development or in support of a new or existing program (with an emphasis on hockey). Entries can be submitted to www.thenextstride.ca/programs/game-changers or community@carhahockey.ca along with a short writeup (up to 250 words). The campaign is open to all individuals and communities across Canada who share a passion in advancing gender equity.

Game Changers is part of CARHA Hockey’s dedicated community outreach initiative in support of sport and community recreation programs. The Next Stride launched in the summer of 2021 and has expanded as a dedicated platform to get one stride closer to achieving our goals together.

Full contest details, as well as official rules, are available at www.thenextstride.ca/programs/game-changers. General questions may be directed to community@carhahockey.ca
