Advancing Equity Diversity Inclusion and Belonging means understanding the impacts of racism, sexism, homophobia, ablism, etc. AND how to create environments that create belonging and if possible, healing. Trauma is an invisible presence in all rooms that is constantly effecting how people cope, regulate, and relate. Trauma-informed practices (TIP) is a framework created for the medical world and adapted as a tool for creating safer anti-oppressive environments. This workshop explores how people regulate their emotions, creates a common language around stress, and adapts trauma informed practices to create practical changes to how you work in sport.
