Volleyball Youth Nationals Set to Kick Off in Ottawa

May 3, 2023 – Volleyball Canada is eagerly awaiting the start of the 2023 Youth National Championships, the premier domestic national event for the Canadian volleyball community. With stops in six major cities across Canada over 16 days, the athletes will be welcomed by Ottawa, Calgary, Winnipeg, Halifax, Edmonton, and Regina.

With an expected 1,256 teams competing and over 12,500 players in attendance, this year’s Youth Nationals will be the largest recorded to date. Last year, the first Nationals following the pandemic closures, saw 1,042 teams compete with both the Youth and Senior events. 

“On behalf of Volleyball Canada, I want to extend a warm welcome to all the youth athletes participating in this year’s Nationals,” said Sandra de Graaff, Director of Domestic Competitions for Volleyball Canada. “Enjoy the competition, make new friends and most importantly, have fun!”

The championships will take place in:

  • Ottawa – 14U from May 5-7,
  • Calgary – 16UG, 17U & 18U from May 11-20,
  • Winnipeg – 14U from May 12-14,
  • Halifax – 14U from May 12-14,
  • Edmonton – 15UB & 16UB from May 12-14,
  • Regina – 15UG from May 19-21.
