Volleyball Canada thanks community for its generous support of #RallyTogetherApart
May 05, 2020: Volleyball Canada and its merchandise partner, VolleyballStuff, are donating just over $25,000 to Food Banks Canada at the conclusion of the #RallyTogetherApart campaign.
When Volleyball Canada’s 2020 Nationals was cancelled due to the pandemic, the community came together and purchased “stay at home” T-shirts and sweats from VolleyballStuff and Volleyball Canada, with proceeds from each purchase to Food Banks Canada. This included $20 from each Nationals hoodie order, $18 from every crew neck, and $12 from each T-shirt purchased to help food banks across the country.
Nationals would have been underway last week in various locations for the 14U events, and next week in Edmonton for the Super Nationals. The event was to include more than 1000 volleyball teams from across the country.
“It’s amazing to see the support for this project, even as athletes and families had planned for months to attend Nationals, only to have it cancelled due to the current restrictions on large events,” said Robin Guy, Volleyball Canada director of governance and partnerships. “I would also like to thank VolleyballStuff and their staff for the flexibility to make this campaign happen in timely way under tough conditions.”
More information on future Nationals events in 2021 and 2022 will be available soon.
