Updated CCES Statement Regarding COVID-19

(Ottawa, Ontario – March 19, 2020) – The Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) recognizes the impact that COVID-19 is having on athletes, sport organizations and all Canadians.

In light of the latest national and regional government directives and measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19, the CCES will significantly reduce testing operations to protect the health and well-being of athletes and sample collection personnel.

In keeping with global practices during this time, the CCES retains the right to test athletes at any time and we will maintain our readiness to test based on our ongoing intelligence assessments.

Registered Testing Pool athletes are required to maintain up-to-date whereabouts information to reflect changes to training and competition schedules.

The CCES athlete services and education support remain available to help athletes and support personnel navigate medication inquiries, medical exemptions and online learning requirements.

For up-to-date information about COVID-19, please refer to the World Health Organization and Health Canada.
