Montería, Colombia – The Quick Story:
Team Canada takes their third Super Round win at the XI Pan American Women’s Softball Championship, defeating Brazil 10–0 in a four-inning run-rule victory. After a scoreless first two innings, Canada’s offence added six runs in the third and four more in the fourth to end the game early. Morgan Rackelearned the win in the circle, while the offence was powered by home runs from Emma Entzminger, Callum Pilgrim, and Grace Messmer.
Key Moment:
Canada broke things open in the bottom of the third. With the bases loaded, Pilgrim launched a grand slam to left field, scoring Caitlyn Wong, Larissa Franklin, and Kianna Jones. The big swing was part of a six-run inning that put the game firmly in Canada’s control.
Notes:
- Emma Entzminger and Grace Messmer each homered in the game, combining for 4 RBIs.
- Callum Pilgrim led the way with 4 RBIs on her grand slam.
- Larissa Franklin went 2-for-2 with 2 runs scored.
- Morgan Rackel picked up the win, pitching 3.0 shutout innings with 3 strikeouts.
- Annabel Teperson entered in relief to close out the fourth, allowing no runs.
- Canada tallied 10 runs on 10 hits, including five extra-base hits.
