The Victoriaville – Fenergic Canada Cup returns for a spectacular 12th edition!

Victoriaville, June 11, 2025 – The prestigious Victoriaville – Fenergic Canada Cup returns to the Victoriaville Golf Club from August 14 to 17, 2025, for a 12th edition that promises to be a sight to behold!

With a record purse of $140,000, including $35,000 for the champion, the tournament remains one of the richest and most challenging events on the Canadian golfing calendar. The competition is supported by the PGA of Québec and Golf Québec, and attracts over 130 professional golfers from Canada and abroad, as well as some 15 hand-picked amateurs.

Same formula as the major PGA tournaments

The playing formula is identical to the one used on the PGA Tour: 4 rounds of competition, with a cut after the second day. The top 60 and ties will advance to rounds 3 and 4 of the weekend.

Defending champion Maxwell Sear of Ontario, who equalled the record of -24 set by American Jake Scott, is considering returning to defend his title. His participation will depend on his results at the PGA Tour Americas Q-School on June 23.

In addition to the possibility of Sear’s presence, three former champions have already confirmed their attendance, including Nova Scotian Eric Banks (2019), Newfoundlander Blair Bursey (2021) and American Jake Scott (2022).

A number of Quebecers will be aiming to achieve the same success as Étienne Papineau, the first Quebecer to win the top honors at the V-F Canada Cup in 2023. Among them, Yohann Benson, Brandon Lacasse, Joey Savoie, Raoul Ménard and Max Gilbert will certainly be serious contenders.

A full week of activities

The tournament will be preceded by the traditional Machinage Piché Pro-Ams, on Tuesday August 12 and Wednesday August 13, where amateurs will have the chance to play with a professional. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Fondation À notre santé de l’Hôtel-Dieu d’Arthabaska.

In addition, on Monday August 11, the Club de golf Victoriaville will host the provincial final of Golf Québec’s spectacular Junior Skills Challenge for the 2nd year running. The event brings together 48 youngsters aged 14 and under from all over Québec, divided into 4 age categories (boys and girls). Three competitions will be contested: putting, approach shots and long drives. An incredible showcase for the next generation of golfers!

A committed spokesperson

Anthony Marcotte, host of BPM Sports and official voice of the Laval Rocket (AHL), will act as spokesperson for the event. A native of Victoriaville, Anthony is a golf enthusiast who is committed to promoting the event in his native region. “It’s a great honor to be the 2025 spokesperson for the Victoriaville – Fenergic Canada Cup. I’m extremely proud of my native region; a dynamic region that has always made sport and its events a priority.”

“This tournament is part of that tradition, and we’re fortunate to be able to count on such a high-profile event here year after year. Golf is a sport I’ve played for many years, and it’s unimaginable how good the players are. And it’s even more spectacular to come and see it up close, as will be the case in August!”
