The Association Québécoise des Sports Paralytiques Cérébraux (AQSPC) is Celebrating its 35th Anniversary!

Montreal, March 11th, 2025 – The Association québécoise des sports pour paralytiques cérébraux (AQSPC) is proud to celebrate its 35th anniversary on February 28th, 2025.

On this occasion, AQSPC is officially launching its interactive historical website, Une histoire, des valeurs, available today at https://histoire.aqspc.ca/. This site offers an immersive retrospective of the Association’s key moments, highlighting its unwavering commitment to the values of boldness, collaboration, equity, and excellence.

Since its founding on February 28th, 1990, AQSPC has played a key role in the development of boccia in Quebec, promoting inclusion and self-empowerment for athletes with functional limitations. Une histoire, des valeurs features an interactive timeline that allows visitors to explore the Association’s major achievements and discover the inspiring individuals who have shaped its history.

Among these exceptional individuals, AQSPC wishes to highlight the remarkable contributions of:

Pierre Nadeau: From a resourceful and audacious child to the co-founder of AQSPC, Pierre also became its first employee and the president of the board of directors. He is a pillar of the Association’s development and the living memory of its history.

Marco Dispaltro, PLY: A renowned Paralympic athlete recognized for his sporting excellence and community involvement, Marco is an essential mentor for up-and-coming athletes. His dedication to guiding new generations has helped shape many promising talents. In addition to his sports career, he spent ten years ensuring the sound management of AQSPC, bringing his experience and expertise to the development of the organization.

Dominique Tremblay, PLY: From former athlete to international sports administrator, Dominique has distinguished himself with his educational and considerate approach to sports regulations. A passionate communicator, he generously shares his expertise. As he approaches his fiftieth birthday, he has joined AQSPC’s board of directors.

José Malo: Since the 1980s, José has been passionately dedicated to various communities and recreational and sports organizations for individuals with functional limitations. Since 2013, as head of AQSPC, she has worked to provide members with the necessary space to showcase their skills. She generously devotes her energy and creativity to their service.

A Platform to Celebrate 35 years of History

“This website is much more than a retrospective; it is a tribute to the individuals and initiatives that have shaped AQSPC. It highlights our evolution and the positive impact we have had on the Paralympic sports community,” says Louis-Philippe Dandenault, AQSPC spokesperson.

The Une histoire, des valeurs website offers an immersive and educational experience, allowing visitors to relive the key milestones of AQSPC’s development, from promoting boccia to advances in accessibility and inclusion.

AQSPC invites the general public, athletes, partners, and adaptive sports enthusiasts to explore these 35 years of history and celebrate this significant milestone together.
