The Aboriginal Sport Circle (ASC) is pleased to announce that the 2025 National Indigenous Sports Gala will take place on October 25, 2025, in Ottawa, Ontario.
Join us for an extraordinary evening as we mark the historic milestone of 30 years of the Aboriginal Sport Circle. Themed “Celebrating 30 Years of Indigenous Excellence in Sport,” this year’s Gala will celebrate both the past and the future of Indigenous sport: the leaders and visionaries who built its legacies, and the trailblazers who will continue shaping Indigenous sport in the future.
“Indigenous achievement in sport has grown steadily over the past thirty years,” says Rob Newman, President of the ASC. “The ASC is honoured to have played a part in that growth and to have emerged as a national leader in advancing Indigenous sport, physical activity, and recreation. We remain deeply committed to creating pathways for Indigenous athletes, coaches, and communities to thrive.”
In this year of reflection and recognition, the 2025 Gala will also reveal recipients of the distinguished ASC Tom Longboat Award and National Indigenous Coaching Award.
Building on the success of its inaugural year, the National Indigenous Sports Gala continues to offer a powerful platform to recognize and celebrate Indigenous athletes, coaches, leaders, and champions. Their dedication and accomplishments have left a lasting impact on Indigenous sport, recreation, physical activity, and traditional practices across Turtle Island.
Attendees will witness firsthand the presentation of ASC’s prestigious awards and experience the powerful storytelling and richness of Indigenous culture. A dynamic marketplace will feature Indigenous businesses, programs, and services that reflect the strength and creativity of our communities. The Gala will offer opportunities to connect and collaborate, bringing together athletes, leaders, partners, and supporters in a shared celebration of excellence.
