Milan, Italy – The Quick Story:
Team Canada earned its first win of the Placement Round at the U-15 WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup with a commanding 9–0 run-rule victory over Italy in five innings. A seven-run second inning broke the game wide open, while starting pitcher Rachel Clegg tossed a stellar three-hit shutout, striking out seven to secure the win.
Key Moment:
Canada exploded for seven runs in the second inning to take full control of the game. Coco Chapman opened the scoring with a two-run single, followed by a triple to right center by Robyn McIsaac to bring Chapman home. With the bases loaded, Amarah Hunter delivered an RBI single, and Canada continued to capitalize with runs scored on a pair of fielder’s choices. Leah Raysoncapped off the inning by crossing the plate to give Canada a 9–0 lead. In the circle, Rachel Clegg was in full command, shutting down the Italian offense to close out the mercy-rule win.

- Rylee Kobasew went 3-for-3 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored.
- Robyn McIsaac went 2-for-3 with a triple, 1 RBI, and 2 runs scored.
