Taekwondo Canada Names National Team for Sofia 2022 World Taekwondo Cadet Championships

Ottawa, ON (July 25, 2022) – Taekwondo Canada is pleased to announce the 2022 Cadet National Team for the upcoming World Taekwondo Cadet Championships being held in Sofia, Bulgaria from July 28th to July 31st. The team was selected based on results from Taekwondo Canada’s National Championships held in Toronto on April 16th.

The Cadet National Kyorugi Team consists of 14 athletes, 6 coaches and 2 trainers, all of whom participated at the recent Cadet and Junior Pan American Championships in Heredia, Costa Rica.

Taekwondo Canada’s High Performance Director, Dr. Allan Wrigley, stated, “After a successful event in Costa Rica, our Cadet team is poised to make their mark on the World stage. Our focus will continue to be on the process and gaining invaluable experience that will help to support each athlete’s development over the coming years.”

The team will further be supported by the Team Leader Dr. Allan Wrigley, Team Manager Brittany Rich, Trainers Ron Lemoire and Yohan Chang, along with Athletic Therapist Tina Szeto.
