Swimming Canada Announces New Partnership with Ombrelle as Official Sunscreen

OTTAWA – Swimming Canada is pleased to welcome Ombrelle as its official sunscreen partner for the 2025 season, beginning a new relationship rooted in a shared commitment to health, safety and supporting the next generation of Canadian swimmers.

The partnership launches at the 2025 Bell Canadian Swimming Trials, set for Saturday through Thursday in Victoria, where Ombrelle will debut its presence with brand awareness and product sampling for athletes. Ombrelle will also be present at the Speedo Canadian Swimming Championships (25m) in Sherbrooke, Que., Aug. 7-10, connecting with the swimming community at some of the country’s most important competitive events.

“It’s fantastic to see a major brand like Ombrelle looking to support our development and ensure open water swimmers are safe in the sun as they represent Canada this summer,” said Mark Perry, Swimming Canada’s National Coach Lead, Olympic Program.

As part of the partnership, Ombrelle will take on title sponsorship of the 2025 Open Water Festival Aug. 16-17 in Montreal, amplifying their presence through athlete engagement, outdoor education, and sampling in an environment where sun protection is vital.

The collaboration also extends into the digital space. This summer, Ombrelle will follow and support Canada’s junior national team through behind-the-scenes storytelling and content ahead of the World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships in Otopeni, Romania, Aug. 19-24, offering fans an inside look at the journey of Canada’s up-and-coming athletes while reinforcing the importance of sun safety.

“Training, competing, and protecting your skin go hand-in-hand. Ombrelle is proud to partner with Swimming Canada, delivering high-performance sun protection for their athletes and families, in and out of the water. As the #1 most recommended sunscreen brand by physicians and pharmacists in Canada, it is our role to continue to educate Canadians about the importance of suncare protection. We are delighted to have a Canadian sunscreen brand partnering with a Canadian organization, both dedicated to the health and wellbeing of Canadians.”, said Livia Passos, Business Brand Lead of Ombrelle at L’Oreal Canada.

Swimming Canada is also recognizing Ombrelle as the official partner of the 2025 development and open water teams, reinforcing a shared goal to uplift and protect the next generation of champions. Fans and families can also look forward to exclusive educational content and promotions through targeted email campaigns via Swimming Canada’s opt-in database.

This new partnership sets the stage for future growth and collaboration between Ombrelle and Swimming Canada, driven by a united vision for health, education, and excellence in and out of the water.
