Ottawa, Ont. – Softball Canada is proud to announce its 2025-2029 Strategic Plan, outlining the vision for the future of the sport. With a mission to enable success for all in softball, the plan focuses on strengthening connections within the Canadian softball community and achieving excellence at every level – from grassroots development to the international podium.
Developed through extensive collaboration with members of the Canadian softball community – including Provincial/Territorial softball organizations, coaches, players, officials, and volunteers – this strategic plan reflects a shared vision for the sport’s growth and success. Their insights have been instrumental in shaping key priorities, and their ongoing support will be crucial in achieving these goals.
Connecting the Softball Community, the guiding theme of the plan, highlights strategies for athlete development, coach education, safe sport practices, umpire development, and international competition success. Through this comprehensive approach, Softball Canada reaffirms its commitment to fostering growth, inclusivity, and world-class performance both on and off the field.
“The memories made on the softball field are unlike anything else. As we look ahead to the next five years, Softball Canada remains committed to development, education, inclusion, and safety at all levels of the game. With exciting opportunities on the international stage including the 2028 Summer Olympic Games, our goal is to support our athletes while expanding participation and creating new pathways for everyone to be part of our sport.”Shared Mike Branchaud, Chief Executive Officer, Softball Canada
“This year certainly brings a host of exciting international events, including Softball Canada’s first-ever U15 Women’s National Team, the WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup hosted in Prince Albert, Sask., and The World Games, to name a few. As we look ahead to the next five years, we draw inspiration from the exceptional achievements of the past, using them as motivation to continue growing and elevating our sport as we strive to be the world leader in softball.” Said Scott Neiles, President, Softball Canada
