Softball Canada Announces U15 Women’s National Team Coaching Staff

Ottawa, Ont. – Softball Canada is pleased to announce the coaching staff and recent additions to the U15 Women’s National Team program, who will be attending the WBSC U15 World Cup in Italy. Head coach Joey Lye (Toronto, Ont.) will be joined by assistant coaches Michelle Webster (Vernon, B.C.) and Kaitlyn Cameron (Langley, B.C.).

Previously, one of the assistant coaches in the program’s first tournament back in March, Joey Lye (Toronto, Ont.), is set to take over the reins as head coach for the U15 program. An established player and coach, she helped Canada secure a bronze medal at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. Lye currently holds the position of Softball Director, at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

She will be joined by Michelle Webster (Vernon, B.C.), who will resume her role as an assistant coach for the U15 team. Webster previously served as the head coach for Team British Columbia at the North American Indigenous Games from 2014 to 2017. Additionally, she held the head coaching position at the University of British Columbia from 2022 to 2024, where she guided the team to three WCSA titles.

Kaitlyn Cameron (Langley, B.C.) will join the U15 Women’s team as an assistant coach and pool coach. Cameron currently serves as the head coach for the Fraser Valley Fusion 2006, where she has led the team to four BC Provincial Championships and two Canadian National Championships from 2017 to 2024. Additionally, she works as an apprentice assistant coach for Team British Columbia.

The U15 Women’s National Team is set to compete next at the WBSC U15 World Cup after qualifying at the WBSC Americas Pan American Championships in Mexico. The tournament will occur from June 27 to July 5 in Italy.
