Softball Canada Announces 2025 U23 Men’s National Team Roster

Ottawa, Ont. – Softball Canada and the U23 Men’s National Team coaching staff are pleased to announce the sixteen (16) athletes who have been selected to represent Canada at the 2025 WBSC Americas U23 Men’s Softball Pan American Championship. The tournament was scheduled to take place in May, but will now be held September 13-20, 2025, in Santa Rosa (La Pampa), Argentina.

The roster features three returning players from the previous U23 team that competed in the 2023 WBSC World Cup and finished 5th – Tyler Branchaud (Metcalfe, Ont.), Connor Brooks (Napanee, Ont.) and Mason McKay (Tavistock, Ont.), as well as eleven former U18 Men’s National Team athletes: Mac Mulvey (Wingham, Ont.) in 2018, Branchaud, Brooks, McKay, Max Major (Delisle, SK), Nate Running (Innerkip, Ont.), Ryan Bicknell (Prince Albert, Sask.) and Matt Weiler (Hepworth, Ont) in 2020, Brad Barker (Goodwood, Ont.), Alex McGillivray (Durham, Ont.) and Nic Neid (Terrace, B.C.) in 2023.

McKay and Nick White (Truro, N.S.) were part of the 2024 WBSC Men’s World Cup Group Stage roster last summer in Prince Albert, while White and Major represented Canada at the 2025 Men’s World Cup Finals earlier this month.

The 2025 WBSC Americas Pan American Championship will feature athletes born in 2001 or later after the original tournament was postponed in 2024. The event will serve as a qualifier for the 2026 WBSC U23 Men’s Softball World Cup, which is scheduled to take place April 25 to May 3, 2026 in Sincelejo, Colombia.
