Ottawa, Ont. – Softball Canada and the U23 Men’s National Team coaching staff are pleased to announce the sixteen (16) athletes who have been selected to represent Canada at the 2025 WBSC U23 Men’s Softball Pan American Championship. The tournament is scheduled to take place May 1-11, 2025, in La Pampa (Santa Rosa), Argentina.
The roster features four returning players from the previous U23 team that competed in the 2023 WBSC World Cup and finished 5th – Tyler Branchaud (Metcalfe, Ont.), Connor Brooks (Napanee, Ont.), Mason McKay (Tavistock, Ont.) and Reese Yantzi (Shakespeare, Ont.) – as well as ten additional former U18 Men’s National Team athletes: In 2018, Branchaud, Brooks, McKay, Yantzi, Ryan Bicknell (Prince Albert, Sask.) Mac Mulvey (Wingham, Ont.) and Matt Weiler (Hepworth, Ont) from 2020, and Adrian Green (Carbonear, N.L.), Alex McGillivray (Durham, Ont.) and Nate Thiessen (Surrey, B.C.) from 2023. McKay and Nick White (Truro, N.S.) were also part of the 2024 WBSC Men’s World Cup Group Stage roster last summer in Prince Albert.
The 2025 WBSC Americas Pan American Championship will feature athletes born in 2001 or later after the original tournament was postponed in 2024. The event will serve as a qualifier for the 2026 WBSC U23 Men’s Softball World Cup.
