Softball Canada Announces 2025 Men’s National Team Roster for WBSC World Cup Finals

Ottawa, Ont. – Softball Canada and the Men’s National Team coaching staff are pleased to announce the 16 athletes who will represent Team Canada at the 2025 WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup Finals.

Set to take place on home soil in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan from July 8 – 13, the tournament presents a thrilling opportunity for Canada to build on its silver medal finish at the previous XVII Men’s Softball World Cup Finals in 2022 and pursue gold in front of a home crowd.

“On behalf of the coaching staff and Softball Canada, we would like to congratulate all the athletes that were selected to attend the Selection Camp at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex this past weekend. It is a huge honour competing for a spot to represent your country” said Men’s National Team Head Coach John Stuart. “Selecting the final roster for the WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup was a very difficult task, and that speaks to how prepared our athletes were coming into camp. The staff is very excited to have a solid mix of veterans and younger players on our roster as we compete for a World title on home soil in Prince Albert.”

“I’m very excited to get things going with the amazing athletes chosen to represent Team Canada,” added team captain Shane Boland.

Team Canada, currently ranked No.4 in the world, has been slotted in Group A, alongside Argentina (No.1), New Zealand (No. 8), and Venezuela (No. 5). Group B will feature Australia (No. 2), Dominican Republic (No. 11), Japan (No. 3), and USA (No. 6).

The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Round, with the top teams from there moving on to compete in the medal round.
