Softball Canada Announces 2025 Men’s National Team Roster for The World Games

Ottawa, Ont. – Softball Canada and the Men’s National Team coaching staff are pleased to announce the 15 athletes who will be representing Canada at the 2025 World Games.

Set to take place in Chengdu, China from August 6 – 10, this marks a triumphant return for Men’s Softball at the World Games. Men’s softball hasn’t been featured since 1981, when Canada earned a bronze medal. Now, 44 years later, Canada is back and aiming for gold with some of the world’s best.

“We’re incredibly proud of this group of athletes selected to represent Canada on the world stage. Every one of them has earned their spot through hard work, dedication, and commitment to the game. We’re excited to compete with the world’s best and aim to bring home gold for Canada” said Men’s National Team Head Coach John Stuart.

Team Canada, currently ranked No.4 internationally, has been placed in Group B for the upcoming games. In this group, they will compete against Australia (ranked No.2), USA (ranked No.6), and Singapore (ranked No.13). Group A will consist of Japan (ranked No.3), Venezuela (ranked No.5), Czechia (ranked No.7), and Argentina, who are currently ranked No.1 internationally.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals, with the winners moving on to the gold medal game.
