Montréal (Québec) – The Board of Directors of the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada (SDRCC) has adopted a new Canadian Sport Dispute Resolution Code (Code) which came into effect on April 1, 2025.
The main changes to the Code were implemented to incorporate new procedural rules in the Safeguarding Tribunal and Appeal Tribunal, in order to align with the new Canadian Safe Sport Program. The changes to the Safeguarding Tribunal rules also allow appeals of independent third-party decisions to be conducted with protections for minors and vulnerable parties.
As the Office of the Sport Integrity Commissioner is continuing its operations until July 31, 2025, all appeals arising from this program will be heard under the 2023 version of the Code.
Other versions of the Code are available on the SDRCC website at: http://www.crdsc-sdrcc.ca/eng/dispute-resolution-code.
