Scott Sandison Named Executive Director of Paralympic Foundation of Canada

Ottawa, September 4, 2025 – Longtime fundraiser and sport leader Scott Sandison is joining the Paralympic Foundation of Canada (PFC) as its new executive director, marking the start of an exciting new chapter for PFC, the philanthropic partner of the Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC).

With more than 20 years of experience across the nonprofit, international development, and sport sectors, Sandison brings extensive professional expertise to PFC. He most recently served as Vice President, Community & Legacy Giving at WWF Canada, where he oversaw an annual revenue portfolio of $17 million. Prior to that, he held progressive leadership roles with Right to Play in Canada, the United Kingdom, and internationally, as well as with World at Play.

Sandison also holds a deep personal connection to sport. An Olympian in field hockey, he competed for Canada in more than 200 international matches, including at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. He is a two-time Pan American Games medallist, gold in 2007 and silver in 2003. For over two decades, he has also dedicated himself to coaching, mentoring, and advocating for athlete development in Canada and around the world.

“I’m honoured to be joining the Paralympic Foundation of Canada as executive director,” said Sandison, who will commence his new role on September 8. “This is a unique and exciting opportunity to contribute to an organization whose mission I deeply believe in. I look forward to working with athletes, partners, and supporters to expand opportunities for Canadians with a disability to experience the transformative power of sport.”

A Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) and holder of an Executive MBA from Queen’s University’s Smith School of Business, Sandison combines strategic vision, data-driven leadership, and a lifelong passion for sport. He has also contributed to the sector through service on the boards of the Pan American Hockey Federation and as part of CFRE International’s Board of Directors.

“We are thrilled to welcome Scott to the Paralympic Foundation of Canada,” said Robert Cassius de Linval, chair of the PFC Board. “His unique combination of fundraising excellence, sport leadership, and deep commitment to accessibility and inclusion makes him the ideal person to guide the Foundation into its next chapter.”

Dean Brokop, who has served as executive director of PFC since its inception in 2015, will continue to play a critical leadership role in the Paralympic Movement as the new Chief Operating Officer of the Canadian Paralympic Committee.

Under his leadership, PFC achieved remarkable growth, launched innovative fundraising campaigns, and strengthened the culture of philanthropy around Para sport in Canada. In his new role, he will oversee CPC’s operations, strategy, and organizational effectiveness, and build on the strong relationship between CPC and PFC.

Together, Sandison and Brokop will work with CPC and PFC leadership and the broader Canadian Paralympic community to continue advancing opportunities for Para athletes and ensuring the transformative power of sport is accessible to all Canadians.

The Paralympic Foundation of Canada is the philanthropic partner of the Canadian Paralympic Committee. Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, PFC has raised more than $20 million to support the enhancement of Paralympic programming in Canada and assisting Canadian Para athletes in achieving their goals.
