Rugby Canada and The Tragically Hip Team Up for a Limited-Edition Vintage Jersey In Support of Canada’s Women’s Rugby Team

(September 16, 2025) – Rugby Canada is proud to announce a second unique collaboration piece with one of Canada’s most iconic bands, The Tragically Hip, launching a limited-edition vintage rugby jersey. As Canada’s women’s rugby team is gearing up for its final matches of the 2025 Rugby World Cup, the jersey will serve as a celebration of Canadian rugby and the growth of the women’s game across the country. Proceeds from jersey sales will benefit Mission: Win Rugby World Cup, contributing to the legacy of continued growth and success of the team beyond this 2025 RWC campaign.

The collaboration follows the success of the Rugby Canada x The Tragically Hip limited-edition t-shirt released in August 2025, which captured the passion of fans from coast to coast and sold out in under 12 hours. Building on that momentum, this new jersey draws inspiration from classic rugby kit design, fusing the band’s unmistakable legacy with the heritage and grit of Canadian rugby. Made from 100% cotton at 8oz, this unisex, loose-fit jersey offers classic comfort and durability.

“We are thrilled to be able to build on our collaboration with The Tragically Hip and represent the very best of Canadian culture,” said Nathan Bombrys, CEO of Rugby Canada. “The Tragically Hip are woven into the fabric of this country, and we are seeing Canada rally behind our women’s rugby team more than ever before. This jersey not only celebrates the team’s Rugby World Cup journey, but also directly supports their legacy and continued pursuit of excellence on the world stage with music, sport, and pride coming together.”

For The Tragically Hip, the collaboration continues the band’s monumental support and advocacy for the growth of women in sport as big fans of Canadian women’s rugby. “These extraordinary athletes are writing their own history on the world stage, and we’re honoured to play a part in helping them chase their dreams,” said the band. “The vintage jersey is a symbol of strength, perseverance, and Canadian spirit—values that both rugby and music share. We hope fans wear it proudly as they cheer the team on.”

The vintage jersey features bold retro striping and a crest that combines Rugby Canada’s maple leaf with subtle design nods to The Hip’s storied history. Produced in limited quantity, the jersey will be available for purchase online via the Rugby Canada Official Online Store while supplies last, with a shipping date of November 7 (including all other ordered items with a jersey as part of the order).“We are thrilled to be able to build on our collaboration with The Tragically Hip and represent the very best of Canadian culture,” said Nathan Bombrys, CEO of Rugby Canada. “The Tragically Hip are woven into the fabric of this country, and we are seeing Canada rally behind our women’s rugby team more than ever before.
