Rachel Clegg Pitches a No-Hitter as Canada Takes 7-0 Win over Australia

Milan, Italy – The Quick Story:    

Team Canada finished opening round play on a positive note taking their second win at the 2025 WBSC U-15 Women’s Softball World Cup. Canada opened the scoring in the first inning and never looked back, adding a run in the second before tallying five more in the fourth. In the circle, Rachel Clegg had an outstanding performance with a complete-game no-hitter and thirteen strikeouts. 

Key Moment:  

With a 2-0 leading heading into the fourth, Canada strung together five hits, including triples by Coco Chapman and Rylee Kobasew, to add five more to the score and invoke the run-rule.  

Notes: 

  • Coco Chapman went 2-for-2 with a triple, walk, two runs scored, and an RBI.  
  • Rylee Kobasew delivered a two-run triple in the fourth and scored a run.  
  • Robyn McIsaac went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored. 
  • Jenna Hunter doubled and scored twice. 
  • Jayden Girling went 2-for-3 with one run scored. 
  • Rachel Clegg pitched a complete game shutout with 2 walks, and 13 strikeouts. 

Box Score: Canada 7 vs. Australia 0
