Moguls And Aerials Skiers On The Season’s Home Stretch

Freestyle Canda – Double moguls program in Shymbulak; Aerials World Cup in China
Montreal, February 28, 2019– Canadian moguls athletes get back to work this weekend in Shymbulak, Kazakhstan for the last FIS World Cup of the 2018-2019 season. A second consecutive double bill awaits the Canadian skiers on Saturday and Sunday on the new mogul course.
 
This competition marks the definitive end to the remarkable career of Philippe Marquis, who will retire after 12 years on the national team. Will his teammate Mikaël Kingsbury manage another double victory after last weekend’s wins in Tazawako? The “mogul king” will also lay claim to his eighth Crystal Globe in his career. On the women’s side, the Dufour-Lapointe sisters will have to be closely watched. Both came close to the podium in Japan, with Justine taking fourth place in the single moguls event and seventh in duals and Chloé finishing fifth in the same event.

Meanwhile, the aerialists are in Asia, at Shimao Lotus Mountain, China for their last World Cup of the season. The two participating athletes will certainly want to finish the season in the top six – a possibility, since they have the jumps to rival the best on the international circuit.
