Men’s Worlds on the Horizon

Sept. 11, 2025: Canada’s men’s team is in Manila, Philippines, ready to begin the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship.

In this 21st edition of the Men’s Championship, 32 participating teams are split into eight pools of four and will face each of their three opponents during pool play from September 12-18. The top two national teams in each pool will advance to the elimination rounds. The Round of 16 will run from September 20-23, with the quarterfinals following on September 24-25, the semifinal on September 27 and the medal matches ending the event on September 28.

Canada is in Pool G with Japan, Türkiye and Libya. Currently ranked 11th in the world, Canada’s first match is against Libya on Sept. 13 at 10:30 am local time, 10:30 pm ET (22:30) on SEPT 12.

Matches will be live on VBTV and CBC Sports (in Canada).
